After I received the estimate I noticed everything was wrong. They had the wrong side to be repaired and parts that didn't need to be removed were getting removed. I had an appointment and instead of taking care of me and doing the estimate properly they took care of other people and rushed my problem. I'm just glad I didn't take my car to them, you cant rush fixing a car and expect it to run and look the way it did before.
I went to Gerber for an estimate on my car and they seemed friendly. The guy doing the estimate on my car seemed more interested in me then the car, and kept going on about how the business is really busy. After taking pictures of my car and writing in his notebook he told me the written estimate was going to take an hour and he'd email me the estimate. I went home and waited 27 hours. In that time I called twice to check on the process of my estimate and all they could say is "we are really busy."
My vehicle was repaired by Gerber in Big Rapids as a progressive insurance authorized shop. The repair was completed in a timely manner, and their communication was decent. The people were friendly. Why 3 stars? They broke off my hood release latch. They apparently locked themselves out of my vehicle, and rather than call me (I live a mile away) for a second key, they jimmied the door, leaving a 1" long chipped paint, torn foam door surround, scratched plastic trim, and a scratch on the back of the handle. I will update this review if possible after they have an opportunity to correct it, but it should be on record as it shouldn't have been like that to begin with.
Went to the local car dealership, they said they didn't do repairs. I asked them who they recommend, they said Scott's body shop south of town and warned me about Gerber collision. I got a quote from Scott's and went to Gerber because I wanted to double check before I spent a lot of money. The first time they were closed during the hours they said they were open, then when someone was finally there they were extremely rude, and very sketchy about not giving me a written quote. Couldn't even bother to look at my car, clearly they don't want business if this is how they act. Wouldn't trust my car with them regardless of price. They have family and friends leave reviews? Should have listened to the car dealership and not even wasted my time.
The turn around time for my vehicle was great. Excellent communication between Service personnel and myself.
Their work is absolutely gorgeous. They have gone out of their way to take care of my vehicle and my personal obligations every time. They know what they're doing and what's important to you becomes important to them.
